2023 Puerto Plata Carnival
The 2023 Puerto Plata Carnival is celebrated every weekend in La Puntilla amphitheater, bringing in crowds of families and tourists visiting town. The various comparsas are performing in the stage starting at 2pm, and mingle with visitors in the hallway between the main road entrance and the stage. Carnival is celebrated every year in many cities in the Dominican Republic, and the most famous ones are the one in Bonao, La Vega, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata and Cabarete. More recently, other cities such as Punta Cana have joined the Carnival fever and created their own. Taimascaros, Cojuelos, Roba la Gallina, and many other parade participants from other cities will join the local ones in Puerto Plata on March 11th starting at 2:00pm.
