DR Open Kiteboarding Championship
The tenth edition of the “D.R. Open Kiteboarding Championship” will be held from Wednesday March 29 in the municipality of Cabarete, Puerto Plata and will once again receive the support of El Nuevo Diario. With a duration of five days, the event has the objective of promoting interest in Kiteboarding among the youth of the community and promoting the qualities of tourism and water sports in the north of the country.
The Milennium Hotel, on Cabarete beach, will be the venue for the development of the event that will end on Sunday, April 2 and in which the best 10 best athletes worldwide will meet, among which the Dominican Adeury Corniel; Carlos Mario, from Brazil; Valentín Rodríguez, from Colombia, among others. Dominican Corniel is a gold medalist at the Youth Olympic Games and also placed second at the World Kiteboarding Championships.
The organizers of the event have announced that the tenth version of the “D.R. Open Kiteboarding Championship” will count all the conditions and protection to the participants, as well as to the fans who come together to the great event. The activity has been carried out since March 2012 in the community of Cabarete and after a two-year pause, this March 29 the northern zone will shine again, because it has not been carried out since January 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic. that affected the country.
