Puerto Plata Snorkeling Catamaran Day

This Puerto Plata Snorkeling Catamaran Day video was shot on May 20th, on a beautiful day departing from Sosua Beach. The group was composed of close friends, so we decided to do a photoshoot and video of the snorkeling trip and post it here. Usually the charter departs from the beach, heads West along the coast towards El Tablón beach, a secluded spot where some jump to swim and take photos of the cliff cave there.

The trip then moves East along the coast towards Alicia Beach, Casa Marina Beach and makes a stop at Imbert Beach, which is now extended into Infinity Blu, Hispaniola Condos and the jetty beach of the Ocean Club. Right there one finds the Three Coral heads called Three Rocks, where lots of tropical fish are found. You can ID the fish here: https://www.sosuabeachdr.com/marine-life/

Spoiler: the one with the stripes is the Sergeant Major, a type of Damselfish. The yellow one is the Yellow tail Snapper, a type of Snapper native to the Western Atlantic Ocean including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea; and there’s the Blue Tang darker version ( remember Doris, from Nemo?) this one is a surgeonfish found in the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

The catamaran featured in the video is the Schifferboot 65, built to specs just for charters. You can book it online at https://www.puertoplatacatamaran.com/product/privatecharter3/

This trip is more than just snorkeling and cruising along the beautiful Puerto Plata coastline. It is a very relaxing experience to engage with the crew, play your favorite music, dance, laugh, share a drink, and enjoy the included meals with such a gorgeous backdrop.

The Puerto Plata Snorkeling Catamaran Day is a bucket list item for anyone visiting the North Dominican Republic, specially for birthday occasions and family trips.
